How Can You Help
Of all the resources we require to function at our most effective, none is more important – or more elusive – than adequate funding. We gratefully accept monetary donations to further our mission, providing young adults in Broward County’s foster care system the access to critical resources that they need and deserve.
The one thing that The FLITE Center needs just as much as money is time. Dedicated, diligent members of the community who can share their energy and enthusiasm with us can make a real difference to so many young adults at one of the most critical moments in their lives – as they work to become the people that they are going to be. Volunteer opportunities exist for those with specialized youth-services capabilities as well as those with more generalized clerical and administrative skills.
The young men and women we serve benefit in profound and lasting ways from positive, encouraging interactions with successful adults in the community. You don’t have to be a captain of industry or Nobel laureate to help them realize their potential, either – just someone with the time and temperament to facilitate workshops and discussion groups that help young adults acquire essential life skills as they set out to make their own mark on the world.
We also accept donations of items on our Wish List to help us in providing for the youth we serve.
